Privacy Policy

QRKeep ("the app", "we", "us") is a QR & barcode scanner and generator. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app processes, how it is used, and the choices you have. We designed QRKeep to keep your data on your device wherever possible.

1. Summary

Your scans, generated QR codes, saved cards, contacts, and calendar events stay on your device. We do not operate a server that receives or stores this content.
The app uses a small number of third-party SDKs (Google Firebase, Google AdMob, RevenueCat) that collect limited technical and usage data to run analytics, show ads, and manage subscriptions.
We do not sell your personal information.

2. Information processed on your device only

The following is handled entirely on your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party:

Scanned codes & history — the content of QR/barcodes you scan and your scan history are stored locally in an on-device database.
Generated QR codes & "My QR" cards — codes you create and save.
Camera — the camera is used solely to detect codes in real time. Camera frames are processed on-device and are never uploaded.
Contacts — if you choose to create a contact QR, the app reads a contact you pick to pre-fill the form. This data is used only to build the QR you requested and is not sent anywhere.
Calendar — if you choose to create an event QR, the app reads calendar events you select to pre-fill the form. This data is used only to build the QR and is not sent anywhere.
Wi-Fi network name (SSID) — if you choose to create a Wi-Fi QR, the app reads the currently connected network name to pre-fill the field. It is used only to build the QR and is not sent anywhere.

You can revoke the Camera, Contacts, Calendar, and Location permissions at any time in your device Settings. These features are optional; the core scanning experience works without them.

3. Information collected by third-party services

To operate the free, ad-supported app and its optional subscription, we rely on the following services. Each collects data as described in its own privacy policy.

All data collected by these services is encrypted in transit using TLS. We do not receive your name, email, phone number, or account credentials through the app.

4. Advertising & consent

In the free version, ads are provided by Google AdMob and its partner networks. Where required by law (for example, in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland), we present a consent form on first launch that lets you accept or decline personalized advertising. You can change your choice later via the "Privacy options" item in the app's Settings. If you subscribe to QRKeep Pro, ads are removed.

5. Children's privacy

QRKeep is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Data retention & deletion

On-device data (scans, generated codes, saved cards) is retained until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Uninstalling QRKeep removes all locally stored data. To request deletion of any diagnostic/analytics data associated with your device, contact us at the address below; you may also reset your advertising ID in your device settings.

7. Your rights

Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR in the EEA, CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to opt out of personalized advertising. You can exercise ad-personalization choices via the in-app "Privacy options", and contact us for other requests.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
