QRKeep · Last updated: July 7, 2026
QRKeep ("the app", "we", "us") is a QR & barcode scanner and generator. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app processes, how it is used, and the choices you have. We designed QRKeep to keep your data on your device wherever possible.
The following is handled entirely on your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party:
You can revoke the Camera, Contacts, Calendar, and Location permissions at any time in your device Settings. These features are optional; the core scanning experience works without them.
To operate the free, ad-supported app and its optional subscription, we rely on the following services. Each collects data as described in its own privacy policy.
| Service | Purpose | Data collected |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config) | Understand feature usage, diagnose crashes, and configure app behavior remotely | App usage & interaction events, device & app identifiers, crash logs and diagnostics, approximate region, device model / OS |
| Google AdMob | Show advertisements in the free version | Advertising ID, app-set ID, IP address (approximate location), ad interaction data, diagnostic/performance data |
| RevenueCat | Process and restore in-app subscriptions | Purchase history, an app-generated anonymous user ID, subscription status |
All data collected by these services is encrypted in transit using TLS. We do not receive your name, email, phone number, or account credentials through the app.
In the free version, ads are provided by Google AdMob and its partner networks. Where required by law (for example, in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland), we present a consent form on first launch that lets you accept or decline personalized advertising. You can change your choice later via the "Privacy options" item in the app's Settings. If you subscribe to QRKeep Pro, ads are removed.
QRKeep is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
On-device data (scans, generated codes, saved cards) is retained until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Uninstalling QRKeep removes all locally stored data. To request deletion of any diagnostic/analytics data associated with your device, contact us at the address below; you may also reset your advertising ID in your device settings.
Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR in the EEA, CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to opt out of personalized advertising. You can exercise ad-personalization choices via the in-app "Privacy options", and contact us for other requests.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
